This is the tenth year I've bought this calendar, and the company that shipped it did the most stellar job of all time. It arrived in a strong cardboard box with a DO NOT BEND label on it. Normally my postal carrier would do his best to ruin it, but he couldn't this time. In the past, I've received this calendar wrapped in nothing but thin plastic and it arrived damaged.Now to the calendar. I give it four stars because of 47 superb models, but this alarming trend of trying to force very overweight women on us in a swimsuit calendar has got to stop. We had 5 wasted weeks in this calendar. It's insulting to the buyers, and cheats all the other incredible supermodels out there who work so hard to stay fit and deserve a chance to be in a calendar of this caliber.

While the pictures are decent from a color viewpoint, the girls and swimsuit styles aren’t. The glossy paper is OK: used to be thicker.No disrespect to the models, but, those presented aren’t what folks are expecting when they purchase a calendar/planner with photos of bikini-clad models. They are expecting photos of scantily-clad, young, slender models with firm bodies, long hair, modeling various great, creative styles of swimsuits. The swimsuit styles aren’t that good or varying much.Sports Illustrated wouldn’t have achieved itself as a company selling its swimsuit calendars, if these would have been the types of pictures they would have illustrated decades ago when this trend started.When it comes to swimsuit photography, you are quickly losing your touch, which means you will lose customers.It’s simple. Go back to your previous formula for photo shoots and publishing, or stop illustrating.

I normally buy engagement calendars from the Audubon Society, the Sierra Club or one dedicated to space, but I ran out of time this year and purchased this one. The women are beautifu, of course, and are named as well on the facng pages, but there is only one page in the back for notes. That's where I keep my passwords and user names and various phone numbers and e-mail addresses. I'll run out of space by March.

The quality of the pictures was far short of my expectations and of the quality of prior years. I threw it out after a month and won't order it again.

Compact, room to write on each day, attractive women every other page, what could be wrong?

This is an annual purchase which I always enjoy. The packaging was okay but not great.

I’ve been inserting IVs for a couple of years now, but nobody ever really taught me how or told me the fundamentals behind some of the techniques. This book explains it well and gave me insights on what I can do next time if I have a difficult stick patient. I highly recommend this book.

Good information, good illustrations. Really like the section (although very brief) on infiltration/extravasation. Very good resource for the newbie but a pretty thorough review for us experienced who just need a review. I bought this book and another I recommend. Both worth the money and time spent reading. Can’t help but recommend buying both books as they each have their stronger points.

Recently, I went online looking for books that would provide helpful information on "How to start an IV". During my search, I only came across the following two books: 1) The Art of the IV Start and 2) Rapid Guide to IV Starts. At the time, both books had pretty decent customer review ratings, so I purchased both titles. Unfortunately, once I received this book and inspected it, I noticed it does not provide any information about the author(s) or their credentials. Because of this, this book is rendered useless and I would not recommend it to others because there is no way of knowing if this book is from a reputable source.

I've been an RN for 15 years & never thought I could learn so much, in so little time and for such a small price.

The diagrams in this book are SO helpful for someone who is learning how to self-administer specialty pharmaceuticals. Now, the drawings are focused on IV Catheter, with less mention of butterfly needles. Butterfly needles are more common for self-administration. However, the vein diagrams helped me understand where the needle is actually going when I insert, look for flashback, level out, and push a little further. The tips for people with "rolling veins" and easily blown veins have saved me a lot of unnecessary bruises and needlesticks! Even the phlebotomists at the lab take me seriously when I pass along these tips to them before they attempt to draw my blood.The information in the book is sometimes repetitive, but the diagrams and tips were well worth the price. Really, can you put a price on avoiding unnecessary needle sticks??? Plus, the confidence I gained from this book has helped to facilitate my home-administration of specialty medicine in a timely manner, to treat my symptoms within hours. That is worth its weight in gold.As an aside: If you are purchasing this book in order to learn self-administration of a specialty phamaceutical, or if you are a "difficult stick" -- I highly recommend purchasing your own fabric tourniquets. Amazon carries them in rainbow colors for a reasonable price. The cheap rubber tourniquets always bruise me, and my veins are more likely to roll. However, the fabric tourniquets are far more comfortable, they do not bruise me, and I find my veins are easier to stabilize. Don't be afraid to bring your own to your next blood draw!

The pics and illustrations really help you visualize what's going on inside the vein with the needle. Now I know what's actually happening when I get a partial flash abruptly followed by a blown vein!
