This book changed my life. I bought a copy for my parents and a copy for my brother and his wife.ADHD is a thing you have, but it does not define you. It's important to remember that. If you have ADHD, the beginning of this book is a bit tough to read, and keep in mind that there are characteristics described in it which may not be applicable to you (I am, thankfully, not bad with money, for example), but it is very eye opening, and in the latter half of the book, it talks about solutions. It's really written for your partner, but I found it to be incredibly insightful for me personally to understand more about why my brain does the things it does and how it affects other people. It allowed me to accept and forgive myself a bit more. It also made me want to work harder to overcome certain elements so that I can be a better person all around, for me and for the people around me.

A psychologist recommended the book and it has been a Godsend. I now know why I had so much trouble in school and in life when it comes to certain things. I am sad that it took me 58 years to understand the learning disability that has affected me my entire life. A previous doctor said I was the most classic case of ADD he had ever seen but did not put me on Ritalin which I know would have helped. I took someone else's Ritalin in my twenties and had never felt so clear before. He put me on Wellbutrin which I had a bad reaction to. I wish he and my therapist at the time could have helped me more when I saw them in 1993. My life could have been so much better. Instead office work and stress was overwhelming at work and I began to have anxiety attacks which are just now being addressed by Dr. Cook from Classical Herbs and Acupuncture who has helped me immensely.

Very informative book for the partner of ADHD spouse. This book contains both happy ending and divorced relationships related to ADHD issues. Our case is the spouse with ADHD is untreated and in denial, so medication and therapy part of this book does not currently help our situations, however, it helped me to realize how the adult ADHD marriage issues are so identical to each others including my own. I can say that I have much clearer views of where I stand in this relationships and what is and what is not my problems now. I can see why there are some very negative reviews on this book, because this book is brutally honest snap shots of many ADHD marriages, and of course some people would not like to see the facts. I had read many books regards to adult and children's ADHD, and I would say this book helped me the most. Highly recommended.

Hi! Hello there. Scouring the internet at 2am for books on ADHD because you are living with someone with it & are about to LOSE.YOUR.DAMN.MIND. I get it. I really do. I am sorry. But you can stop looking now. I've read & read & scoured all the internets & the libraries & books & blogs for you; and you can stop now. Just get this one book & do these things & it will be hard as hell, but you can do it & you will be ok. Forget buying or reading all of the other stuff you've collected trying to find an answer & a way forward that doesn't involve you having a physical, spiritual, and emotional breakdown; those resources are all crap compared to this. I have honestly considered calling my library & telling them to get rid of all their other crappy ADHD books & just put this ONE on the shelves. This is the one you'll need. It's like Gina crawled into your head & is perfectly describing the chaos that is your home & relationship, but that few if anyone else ever sees. You aren't alone & you aren't crazy & you will know that (finally) from page one of this book. The other books will give you platitudes & unhelpful suggestions, like "be more organized!" but anyone who has lived with a partner with ADHD knows that omgbutyouvetriedeverythingalready and you need more. You need HELP & NOW. Get this book & don't waste your precious little time & money on the others. and good luck! you'll need it.

As the partner of an ADDer, I got a greater understanding of how the behaviours of this disorder manifest in an intimate relationship. I realised that I am not to blame for everything, and that I am not alone in this daily struggle. I feel more positive to take charge of my own reactions to these often hurtful behaviours. I purchased this book hoping to learn about someone I love very much. By page 4 I was in tears because I realized I was reading about myself. ADHD is not at all what most of us think it is. I promise. This book changed the way I see myself, and in that I see and feel my entire life before reading it in a completely different light. Gina's book is the single greatest gift I've ever received, and I say that with total sincerity.

I gave this a 5 star haven't had time to read alot of it and as far as the you? me? part not sure the other part will at all - but what I wanted to say if this book has very high ratings and is a good seller and I think for anyone like myself with terrible adult ADD that came on later way after I was grown up, and slowly, that most anything written with an attempt to help us with all the various problems and to deal with them in different ways is definitely worth buying. Alot of super reviews on this book - NOT just here.

I think the book is very helpful, especially when you are in a relationship with someone with ADD. It confirms my understanding and how it affects both sides. It is quite a roller coaster ride, and I know there are many people who are not aware that they have ADD or are with those with ADD, they just think it's 'normal' for them, as crazy as it may be. It's enough to drive someone insane if they aren't aware of what's going on. God Bless us...

This book of spells is as good as any out there on the market. In fact, it is better than most for several reasons.First, it is inclusive. For example, there's actually a spell to help a disabled child reach their fullest potential. Really, nothing has been forgotten in this book. Love, money, careers, health and healing, travel, fertility, protection, justice, peace... you name it, the topic is covered!Second, it advocates for a healthy lifestyle. Unlike spells of old (mix this with a little wine and drink) this book actually acknowledges that there are individuals that suffer from illnesses like alcoholism and provides a spell to aid in such healing. In fact, I cannot find a single spell that advocates practicing anything that could cause potential harm in any way, shape or form.Third, most of the supplies needed to work each spell are everyday household items. One that quickly jumped out at me was "Bubble Wishes for Urgent Needs." All it required was some bubbles and edible seeds. With kids who are bubble crazy and trail mix for every day snacks, the spell was a cinch to create (not to mention effective).Now for the BUT...With all the good I have to write about this book, I still can't give it five stars. Unfortunately, the author never once (from what I've read) shared the importance of opening or closing a circle before casting. For regular practitioners, this is nothing new and easy to overlook in a book since we've already established our routines. However, this can be counterproductive (and even potentially dangerous) for those who are new to the craft. If there are ever additional editions of this book, I would highly suggest that the author include a general knowledge chapter in the beginning of the book before providing the spells. Otherwise, I did enjoy reading this book and will surely use it as reference in future rituals.

This book had great reviews so I just got it but I was more, meh. I like that it has a great variety of spells for all sorts of things but it does not go into enough detail for me. It is set up by what you will need, timing, and the spell. The timing is very general for example it might just say Friday or before bed or whenever the issue arises. Some spells don't tell you for how long they should be done. No info on proper disposal of left over spell materials once completed. One spell calls for a couple of items then doesn't even say how to use the items in the spell! I haven't read through them all yet. However, if you are new to the craft they are simple and basic to get you started. I actually used a few of them as a base to create my own spells which was actually quite helpful. I give it 3 stars for these reasons.

This has spells for anything and everything! I love this book! Don't waist your time on collecting spells through 40 other books when you can have them all in one book!

OMGoddess! I received my book and I can't put it down as there are so many spells for the modern Alchemist to enjoy. Wow, I'll be very busy planting good seeds this Springtime. Prompt delivery and all as a Prime Member. I'm so loving it!!

I feel as though many of the spells are just "fluff" & kind of silly. With that said there is some decent stuff in here to use to build your own spells. The author does not discuss opening & closing your circle or other ritual traditions, it's like a straight up cookbook that doesn't tell you how an oven works or the chemistry behind the bread you bake, which is fine if you know what you are doing. Overall I'm glad I added it to my library & it's got some interesting spells to expand upon.

I absolutely love this book. It is very thick and contains spells for basically all aspects of life. The spells are simple and doesn't require you to buy 18 different herbs or other clutter. It is clear and concise of what needs to be done. I recommend this to all. It is the best spell book I have, It is powerful and worth it!

I love this book and use it often! Love the gorgeous hardcover; no damage to pages or binding! Font is easy to read and intro pages for each chapter have nice illustrations. I do wish they'd include a list of everything you'd need in one section (what crystals, candles, oils, etc) but other than that, it's great. Would recommend!

Excellent survey of some of the standard tricks and techniques for turning the unorthodox. There's enough information here to do most of this yourself; I'll be able to use a lot of these techniques pretty quickly and I am a beginner. If you get very far in turning, I suspect you'll need more than a couple of these...If you're quick you'll look at the pictures and read a little of the text and have the epiphany... no more reading required! In some cases you might require a few more details, and will find a very careful reading to be crucial as some of the explanations could have been better edited. For example, Page 52 Waste Blocks and Glue Blocks: "A glue block serves a similar function but is typically much larger and meant to be reused..." with no further explanation of how one might achieve this reuseability... perhaps he means "I *intend* to reuse this thing I just glued to my bowl, but must cut it off the work and alter it"... which some might not regard as reuseable... and so what is reuseable?I really liked the projects and think they'll be very useful, although the pictures and text don't seem to synch... until you realize that the picture was taken either before or after one of the intermediate steps in the text. aha. I see now. after the third read.In my book, these are mostly minor gripes that belong more to the editor than the author, and which can be overcome by careful reading. Obviously this is not always the case.I also found two chapters on vacuum chucks overkill, but you may not.Overall, I think this is a very good book that fills an important niche. I am not aware of a better, more complete book on the subject. I consider it a very worthwhile purchase.

This should the second book in any turner's collection. Dr. Green does a fantastic job describing the various ways to make stuff on the lathe. The illustrations are top-notch and the directions are astute. This books provides lots of how-to. How to make a goblet with a long thin cylinder connecting the base to the vessel, how-to make your own vacuum chucks, how to place a bowl on a vacuum chuck so it is aligned. The book justly deserves my 5 star review. (BTW- the first book should either be a Richard Raffan or David Ellsworth intro to turning book.)

This is a little bit of an odd book.As the title suggests, it goes into great detail on how to attach the work to the lathe, how to make steady rests etc. At first I was a little nonplussed when reading because the author goes into detail on everything except the actual turning, even the turning that you might have to do to make a jig. However, this focus is actually the best part of the book. The reader probably already knows the basics of turning and would, in any event, be better off with a more general book on the actual woodturning techniques for this part.The author has spelled out a number of creative and useful ways to inexpensively increase the capabilities of the wood lathe and to get around some of the problems turners will probably encounter. Further, he often spells out several different ways or jigs to do similar things so the reader has options. I particularly like the examples of the bowl and spindle steadies. I followed his plans for a bowl steady and saved more than the price of the book by making one. (It works great by the way.) The biggest problem I had was deciding which of three plans would work the best for what I wanted to do.This would not be a good first choice if you can only buy one book on turning. But while there are multiple good books on other aspects of turning, this book has fairly minimal overlap with others. I therefore recommend it as part of every woodturner's library.

Really good book. I haven't purchased a lathe yet and wanted to know more about the accessories that either came with a lathe or you'd need to really do the work. Turns out, I learned a lot about chucks and now realize that when you get home with your new lathe, you might be surprised about what's not included in the box. While the book does a good job of explain commercial accessories, it also shows you how to make a number of jigs and fixtures. While many experienced turners might find the contents of the book to be common knowledge, for me, it cleared up a lot of my confusion. It's a keeper.

For $16 I got a bargain. I have been turning for 12 months and have learned a ton from this book. It covers chucking with hardware as well as making and using homemade jigs/chucks. Lots of precise explanation of the pictures. It explains the various chucks and the various uses of each. Gives instructions on remounting; chucking large and small projects; making and using steady rests. For projects it covers assembling stacked hollowed forms; adding rims or feet to hollow forms. Very good value.

This is a good book, easy to understand with many illustrations. Instructions on using different centers and chucks you can purchase. Also instructions and pictures on how you can make these by using your lathe. I would recommend this book for anyone who turns wood on a lathe .

Doc Green provides a lot of valuable information on holding wood on your lathe. Besides what you would expect on chucks, faceplates and centers, he goes on to shopmade chucks, jam chucks, collets and mandrels. There are lots of innovative shopmade jigs and chucks detailed. He explains how to make chucks to reverse turn a bowl for finishing: with cole jaws, doughnut chucks and Longworth chucks. He includes an excellent chapter on making vacuum chucks with very detailed instructions on making the trickiest part, the rotary adapter.

There is stuff in here I think would take me months to think up.A real time saver for anyone who spends a fair amount of time on the lathe, and often gets caught on, "How to finish off that piece, with a chunk of it still in the chuck".Some of it is intuitive, some if it is just downright ingenious.

Solid book that served me well.A few notes:-The Museum of Image and Sounds in Copacabana is not yet open as of April 2017; however, the book says it is open and recommends going.-Seems to be missing information on key day trips, like to Petropolis, and lacks information on other nearby attractions like Paraty, Ilha Grande, and Buzios. If you plan on going to these destinations while in Rio, I would recommend getting a more general book on Brazil.-As of July 2016 (post-publication), the subway line 4 to Jardim Oceanico is open.

Really out of date as far as safety. Was there to visit friends who live there and were told over and over "That isn't safe" "That is closed due to muggings" "A tourist couple was murdered there".

Whenever we needed to find a nice place to eat or visit, we checked with our guide, the Rio de Janeiro book. I definitely recommend this book. It is easy to find details that you need and if you follow the recommendations you want go wrong!
