Lots of pictures is awesome, it's helped me learn instruments I didn't know.I think it could be set up better, especially the sterilization notes since it's so repetitive it's hard to keep reading. It would be better to just write "disinfect" or "sterilize" or "place in sharps container" as opposed to a paragraph that says the same thing most pages. I don't want to read the same paragraph page after page but I also don't want to miss anything. Any major sterilization information should be placed in bold. See my attached pictures to get an idea of what I'm talking about.The only other thing that would make this better is to show more pictures of the instruments or materials in use, not just the instrument or material itself. This pocketbook does this for many instruments but more of these in-use pictures would really help see the functionality of the materials.Overall I would definitely recommend this because it has very good information and very good pictures.
I ordered this Dental Instrument book for my daughter who is currently in College and studying to become a Dental Assistant.This was a required book for her classes.I love that Amazon offers College level books. We have purchased many book from here.I would highly recommend this book for your studies. Well detailed. Brilliantly illustrated and explains clearly.It has everything you will need to know, and fit's the college book requirement.

Dental Assisting is tough enough to learn. It is always helpful to have tools that make learning and understanding easier. This instrument handbook is just that tool!I purchased a number of them for incorporation into my small dental assisting school. My school offers basic hands-on training which moves very quickly. The course is intense and condensed. The students are hard-pressed to master infection control, impression, making bleaching trays etc. They NEED all the help they can get. This product might be good for someone just learning the ropes, but honestly I had been a dental assistant for 6 weeks at the point when I purchased this and it didn’t help me a whole lot. The information was very basic and didn’t always apply to my particular office. Greatly put together and it seems wonderful but only for extremely basic knowledge. My main desire was for learning forceps and burs which was not really included in this guide at all.
Needed the 5th edition class but this newer one is actually cheaper and it came vacuum sealed in plastic wrap. Great pictures in this edition!
